Laughably.I was told that the North Carolina City I had re-located to was not in their service! I was informed 3 times via the Customer Service Team, that I would need to drive to pick up my belongings myself! BUYER BEWARE!! The reality is this is a prepaid service! I had to call daily. On September 19th (after a extended vacation) I contacted 800PackRat with my requested for an October 1st container delivery. I arrived in North Carolina in mid September. Because of this, I anticipated flawless and professional service.however i as very wrong! Background: I moved from Texas on July 31, 2021. FACT: North Carolina is the Corporate Home Office of 800PackRat. JUST DON'T - Basic trucking company "dabbling" in the reloĨ00PackRat is NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME! If this message only helps one person it will be worth the effort! PLEASE SHARE THE NEWS! I should have read ALL OF THESE NEGITIVE REVIEWS before I made arrangements for a long-distance move! FACT: 800PackRat is NOT a moving and storage company! They are only a trucking company "dabbling" in the relo and storage arena. So if you want your stuff and you expect service, please use anyone else. ![]() Called again, hour wait time, requested call back. No pod, no call, no email, no text, no explanation. I was told she called the Richmond facility to verify. Back on the phone, hour wait or call back. ![]() No pod, no call, no email, no explanation. This same routine, 3 calls a week, no replies to email, no new information, no dates, no ETA, no return calls until finally, a text saying my pod would be here on 10/25 and the driver would call on their way. Several days went by, two or three hour long calls, forwarded to “resolution” specialist, no return calls, despite repeated phone calls, no response to email, ever, and eventually I was told my pod was miss-shipped, and was in Florida, but they couldn’t get it to me because something was wrong at that facility. Their “customer service” people are nice, but of little help. Great system, they tell you they are somehow protecting you by having you wait an hour. Fast forward to October 6th when it was scheduled to be delivered. Unlike some who have posted here I had flexibility on pickup so other than a minor inconvenience, not the end of the world. ![]() The lock they charge you $12.50 for wasn’t there. The Pod arrived on the day it was scheduled. This is the 1st, and only, time I used them for a long distance move. It started well, I’ve used them for storage before with no issues. I’ve had problems but 1800Packrat has dug deeply and managed to screw up a move more throughly than I ever thought possible. I’m 66, have moved frequently all my life, had belongings sent to and from “third world” countries. The worst is you are probably reading this after you’ve had a problem.
